Changing the TIME on your display

*Programming is only allowed on the following phones (T7316e, M7310, M7324):

1. Press the Feature button or the Nortel logo button and then press * * 266344

(The Feature button is the grey button just above the hold button)

2. The Password is 266344 (Password will not appear in the display)

3. Look at the display and use the dial pad or display button to change to the appropriate date or time.
4. Press Change if you need to change the Hour, or Next to continue
5. Press Change if you need to change the Minutes, or Next to continue
6. Press Change if you need to change the Year, or Next to continue
7. Press Change if you need to change the Month, or Next to continue
8. Press Change if you need to change the Day, or Next to continue

or Press Rls or to end.

Changing the NAME on your display

Place the template on the phone: Click on the picture below that matches your telephone

1. Press the Feature button or the Nortel logo button and then press * * 266344

(The Feature button is the grey button just above the hold button)

2. The Password is 266344 (Password will not appear in the display)

3. Press Show(see templates above)
4. Enter extension number
5. Press Show Next Next
6. Press Change (button below the display)
7. Using the dial pad, enter the letters the same way as you would on a cell phone. Use the #key to go from letter to letter. Maximum 7 letters.
8. Press Next

Note: To change another name, press Heading, press Next or Back accordingly to get to the next extension number and repeat the naming process.

If the “Message for you” notification will not go away

If “Message for you” or “MSG” and the red light appear in your display, and it will not go away (usually after listening to your voicemail messages), press Feature or Telephone Globe Button # 6 5. After doing so, it will tell you if another person or the voice mail system left you a message. Pressing Rls or Telephone Release Button will clear the message and return the time indicator to your display.

Interactive PRI Phone

Press this button to retrieve your voice mail. Blank, programmable button. If you want to transfer your caller directly into someone else‘s voice mail. Blank, programmable button. If you want to leave an inter-office message in someone‘s voice mail. Blank, programmable button. Forward your incoming calls directly to your voice mail. Plays the music that callers hear on hold. Feature Release Hold Direct Inward Dial. This is your new direct line telephone number. You have two buttons in order to receive more than one call at a time. Press this button and you can see how long you have been on the phone or the length of the last phone call. Direct Inward Dial. This is your new direct line telephone number. You have two buttons in order to receive more than one call at a time. If this button is flashing, there is currently a caller leaving a voice mail message in your mailbox. You can retrieve that call by pushing this button. There will be a slight delay, and then you can speak to the caller. Blank, programmable button. Press this button and you can make an announcement THROUGHOUT the entire office. You must now dial "9" to make an outside call. You can either lift the handset and dial "9". Or you can lift the handset and press "OUT" which will pre-dial the "9" for you. To Place a conference call:
1. Hit the intercom key, dial “9″ and your telephone number.
2. After the person answers, put them on hold.
3. Make your next call by pressing the second Intercom button, dail “9″ and your telephone number.
4. After that person answers, push the Conference button.
5. Push the first Intercom button that you used to place the first call and everyone is connected MAXIMUM is yourself and two others.
Blank, programmable button. Last number redial. Blank, programmable button. Press this button plus the extension number of the person you are calling, and you can immediately start speaking to that person without them having to pick up their telephone. This feature allows you to place your call on hold, and pick it up from any telephone in your system. When you press Call Park, the display shows a three-digit retrieval code. To retrieve a parked call, go to any telephone, press intercom and the retrieval code. Used for placing internal calls, outside calls, and conference calls. You can press this button and dial any number you wish your telephone to be forwarded to. It can be an extenstion number or an outside number. Mute Handsfree Headset

Open Mailbox Press this button to retrieve your voice mail

Trans > VM If you want to transfer your caller directly into someone else’s voice mail

Leave Message If you want to leave an inter-office message in someone’s voice mail

FWD > VM Forward your incoming calls directly to your voice mail

Music Plays the music that callers hear on hold

DID 1234 Direct Inward Dial. This is your new direct line telephone number. You have two buttons in order to receive more than one call at a time

OUT You must now dial 9 to make an outside call. You can either lift the handset and dial 9. Or you can lift the handset and press Out which will pre-dial the 9 for you.

Call Park This feature allows you to place your call on hold, and pick it up from any telephone in your system. When you press Call Park, the display shows a three-digit retrieval code. To retrieve a parked call, go to any telephone, press intercom and the retrieval code.

Call Forward You can press this button and dial any number you wish your telephone to be forwarded to. It can be an extension number or an outside number (i.e. 9-604 -277 -0022OK)

Interrupt If this button is flashing, there is currently a caller leaving a voice mail message in your mailbox. You can retrieve that call by pushing this button. There will be a slight delay, and then you can speak to the caller.

Call Timer Press this button and you can see how long you have been on the phone or the length of the last phone call

Page Press this button and you can make an announcement throughout the entire office.

Conference To place a conference call:

  1. Hit the intercom key, dial 9 and your telephone number.
  2. After the person answers, put them on hold.
  3. Make your next call by pressing the second Intercom button, dial 9 and your telephone number.
  4. After that person answers, push the Conference button.
  5. Push the first Intercom button that you used to place the first call and everyone is connected. Maximum is yourself and two others.

Voice Call Press this button and the extension number of the person you are calling, and you can immediately start speaking to that person without them having to pick up their telephone.

Recording your personal greeting

Accessing your personal mailbox while away from the office

When you are away from the office, you can access the Norstar Voicemail system by using the dialpad of any telephone. To access your personal mailbox, press ** while the Auto Attendant or your personal greeting is playing. Enter your extension number, password, pound key (#), and follow the voice prompts.

Note: After listening to your messages, the messages you do not delete are automatically saved.

Leaving a message in another mailbox

Why am I recording the greeting twice? Generally speaking, repeating the greeting is a courtesy to the caller in case he/she did not hear the options offered the first time. When someone presses an incorrect key, the system will play the second greeting.
